Guide
Dubai is one of the most attractive places in the world to start a business. Favorable taxation, fast process, and access to an international market. Here's how to do it.
Free zone, mainland, or offshore — each option has its advantages. Free zone: 100% foreign ownership, fast process, but limited to a geographic area. Mainland: access to the entire local market, requires a local sponsor or professional license. Offshore: for holding and asset management.
Dubai has more than 30 specialized free zones: DMCC (trading, commodities), DIFC (finance), Dubai Internet City (tech), Dubai Media City (media), JAFZA (logistics). Choose based on your industry.
Submit 3 names to the DED (Department of Economic Development) or the free zone. The name must not be offensive, already taken, or contain certain reserved terms. Validation within 1-2 days.
WorldXpat connects you with Virtuzone, our partner specialized in company setup in Dubai. Virtuzone handles the complete preparation of your file: documents, forms, and administrative procedures.
Virtuzone submits your application to the relevant authority (free zone or DED), manages the exchanges, and obtains your trade license that authorizes you to operate legally.
Your license allows you to obtain an investor/entrepreneur residence visa (2 or 3 years, or even 10 years with the Golden Visa). You can also sponsor employees.
